Having used ProViz equipment before it was great to be able to review another of their range. Luckily for us it came a few days after my commuting rucksack gave up and split.

On first impressions the rucksack is larger than previous rucksacks used for commuting. Our normal rucksack is around the 18litre and the ProViz Reflect 360 comes in at 30 litres.

The dimensions of the rucksack are 54cm by 34cm. So what does this give you. On my commute I was able to carry a Macbook Pro plus charger, a pair of trainers, a pair of trousers, a t-shirt and thin jumper. All this came to filling about 3/4 of the rucksack.

The rucksack is very comfy and has quite wide shoulder straps. The entire rucksack can be adjusted to suit you with height and girth adjustable chest straps. There are under arm straps and a decent waist belt too. If you do commute with a bladder reservoir then there is opportunity to do so but this wasn’t tested by ourselves. There are good sized mesh pockets on either sides of the rucksack if you wanted to use these. Inside there is a substantial zipped pocket. There are also 2 internal pocket compartments which took a Macbook easily. On the front of the rucksack is a small loop at the bottom so you could attach a rear light  if you required. Also on the front of the rucksack is also a zipped pocket incase you needed anything handy, such as work keys, phone etc.

From ProViz about the fabric:

The fabric used for the REFLECT360 range is highly technical. During daylight it is a modest grey colour. At night, when the fabric picks up an external light source e.g. vehicle headlights, it gives ‘astonishing reflectivity’.

The entire rucksack is covered in reflective detail. Even the front shoulder straps so from every angle you would be seen by headlights.

The nighttime view of the Reflect360 as seen by a driver.

We tested the rucksack to see how far away we could see it with vehicle headlights along a dark lane without a rear light. We got to a distance of 50metres and it was still visible. Whilst commuting in the early dark mornings we felt even more visible to traffic. Several other cyclists commented and questioned the rucksack about how visible it is.

If you commute regular in the winter then this is must buy rucksack. A fantastic piece of kit and as Black Friday is looming and the regular RRP £69.99 will be coming down for sure.
